Jesus…on His Terms2

Accept the challenge of reading through the gospels at a pace that is good for you.  Jesus talks about Himself, and he talks with others: notice His individual statements.  Look for some of the phrases that He uses consistently such as, “it is written,” “blessed are you when…,” “he that has ears to hear,” “the kingdom of heaven is like…,” “your sins are forgiven,” or “follow me.”  Write out some of the separate statements of Christ that have personal and particular impact upon you.  Your Spirit will be renewed, and your intelligence and imagination will be challenged as you begin to recognize and respond to your Creator and Savior…on His terms.  You will also come to realize, as did C.S. Lewis, that “love is most fully realized when what you most desire is out of reach,” as in your pursuit to know the person of Christ.
