Strike the Shepherd and the sheep will be scattered. This Good Shepherd laid down His life for the sheep.
The God of peace, through the blood of the eternal covenant, brought the Lord Jesus back from the dead.
The sovereign Lord now proclaims, “I will search for my sheep, and rescue them. They had gone astray, but now are returned to the Shepherd and overseer of their souls.”
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall lack nothing. He calls me by name, He leads me, and I follow Him because I recognize His voice.
He makes me lie down in green pastures and leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul and guides me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. He has given me abundant life. In Him there is freedom and sustenance.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. You are with me. Your rod of favor and your staff of beauty comfort and transform me. I have eternal life. I will never perish or be separated from this shepherd.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows!
This great Shepherd of the sheep equips His flock with every good thing in order that they may do His will. He works in and through them… that which is pleasing to Him.
Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
To Him be the glory forever and ever.
Amen
